Provides direct patient care and support services to the nursing unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Routine responsibilities include providing bedside care to patient, performing routine nursing procedures, transporting patients, supplies and equipment, routine housekeeping duties and documentation of care and procedures performed.
Graduate of a LPN program. Able to care for patients with varying levels of illness under the direction of an R.N.
Licensed as an LPN in state of practice (TN and/or VA).
CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS.
