The Laboratory Manager will assist Dr. Patnaik in the laboratory with experiments and laboratory management/administration. With respect to laboratory technical skills, the individual must be proficient in cell culture, in vitro proliferation, western blot, qRT-PCR, apoptosis, flow cytometry, ELISA analysis, mice handling and colony maintenance (husbandry/breeding, genotyping, surgical procedures, drug administration by oral gavage, intraperitoneal and tailvein injection, tissue harvest, protein, RNA and immunohistochemical analysis). With respect to laboratory managerial/administrative skills, the individual must have experience ordering supplies and communicating with vendors, keeping inventory of chemicals, reagents, serving as safety officer for the laboratory, and training new members of the laboratory.
