Job Description:

Purpose Of Position To assist maintenance repairers, meter repairers, office personnel and crew leaders as required. To perform all physical tasks as assigned. Work schedule is M-F, Sam -- 5pm, rotating call on-call, ability to work after hours and weekends. Must respond within 20 minutes while on-call. Essential Functions Installs, repairs, and maintains pipes and valves for water/wastewater systems.Excavates and backfills trenches, using hand tools.Properly and safely operate power hand tools.Loads and unloads materials and equipment.Help constructs forms and mixes/pours concrete.Drives light trucks and equipment to and from job site.Installs, adjusts, and repairs meters, boxes, and valves.Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.Must be able to carry out oral and/or written instructions.Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100-lbs. for several minutes daily.Must be able to climb, reach, bend, crouch, and handle a variety of tools and materials.Must be able to stand and walk daily.Must be able to communicate effectively with management and employees in person, by telephone, or by using a radio.May paint buildings, pipes, and other equipment.May clean/sweep floors, walls, and grounds.Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Prefer at least one (1) year of job related experience. Must possess a valid Texas Class \\"C\\" driver's license with clear driving record. City Of Tyler Policy High school diploma or GED required. Prefer at least one (1) year of job related experience.
