Responsible for providing research-based education, assistance, and support to breastfeeding mothers and infants in the Birthing Center through in-person visits, phone consultations, or as outpatients needing assistance. Provides appropriate follow-up assistance as needed. Helps coordinate with physicians and Birthing Center to assure continuity of care. Assists in staff training to ensure that accurate and consistent information is disseminated from Team Members. Teaches breastfeeding classes as needed. Coordinates breast-pump rental and retail services.
1. IBCLC certification
2. Bachelor's degree.
3. Possesses a special interest in Women's and Children's health outcomes.
4. Continually seeks to understand and act upon the needs, concerns, and priorities of mothers and infants.
5. Performs effectively within a team and contributes constructively to produce results in a cooperative effort.
6. Has demonstrated initiative, communication skills, and attention to detail.
7. Is computer literate.
