Facility: Lake View Hospital at Two Harbors
Department: Nursing (Lake View)

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Nursing Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing, coordinating, promoting and completing various nursing-related projects in order to further organizational goals. Assists in abstracting and reporting process for Medicare core measures and other studies as needed. Assists in the Quality Improvement Program to assure accurate data and completion of studies is accomplished throughout departments. Prepares reports as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Experience: Five (5) years of acute care nursing experience; Three (3) years nursing management experience; previous experience with nursing-related projects and systems. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse with current license to practice nursing in the State of Minnesota.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or a related field. Experience: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of current nursing practice; knowledge and skill in advanced assessment; demonstrated skills in communication, planning, coordination, consultation and evaluation; knowledge of current legal parameters in nursing practice; evidence of teaching skills and creativity; demonstrated proficiency in writing. Ability to project and articulate well; to establish and maintain harmonious working relationship with all levels of unit, hospital personnel and medical staff; ability to listen and receive information and suggestions from others; to exercise good judgment and accept personal responsibility; to establish priorities; to maintain confidentiality. Ability to support Lake View s goals and objectives.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: Ability to see, hear, stand, bend, kneel, walk and lift up to fifteen (15) pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne disease; contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances; exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, and illnesses); subject to varying and unpredictable situations; handles emergency or crises situations; may be subject to long irregular hours; exposed to and educated in the safe handling and disposal of materials classified as hazardous by State and Federal regulatory agencies. Part-time-Flex Day shift Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current registration in MN as RN Five (5) years relevant experience required
