Job Description

Latent Print Examiner is being sought for employment as a civilian contractor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Receive, inventory, and sign for physical evidence; - Maintain evidence integrity; - Plan, organize and execute approaches necessary to obtain forensically useful information from the evidence submitted; - Modify established procedures and develop new techniques, approaches and methods, as needed to exploit the evidence; - Prepare written reports suitable for court, briefing, intelligence needs, as required; - evaluate, examine, process, recover, compare, search and submit latent fingerprints on submitted evidence; - Be a journeyman level examiner from an ASCLD/LAB or ISO accredited laboratory; - Have the ability to provide instruction on the proper collection and preservation of evidence for the purpose of latent print and other forensic examinations; - Have the ability to provide instruction on the proper use of latent print development techniques; - Be required to formalize and publish a written Program of Instruction; - Develop a training agenda incorporating the developed Program of Instruction; and- Have the ability to use digital photographic equipment for capturing latent prints.
Requirements: - Have been formally trained in latent print examination at a state or federal American Society Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) or ISO 17025 accredited laboratory;
- Be a member in good standing of the International Association of Identification (IAI);
- Have a minimum of three (3) years experience working in an ASCLD/LAB or ISO accredited laboratory conducting the full range of latent print work described above; - Be an IAI or FBI Certified Latent Print Examiner;- Successfully pass a discipline specific competency test approved by USACIL;- Able to successfully pass proficiency testing during employment with the company; - Intermediate level competency in PhotoShop and Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook); Currently possess or able to obtain a US Secret Clearance; and - Able to meet the following physical demands:- Lift 70 lbs. to a working height of 48 inches General office and laboratory duties/functions.
