Position is responsible for control and issue of linen and terry products used by the Rooms and Food and Beverage divisions. Responsibilities include ensuring that all laundry is removed from chutes, sorted and prepared for transport to wash area. Position assists in unloading of delivery trucks, removes soiled items from laundry carts, inspects linen and terry for damage/stains and/or presence of foreign materials, sorts, separates and bags soiled linen and terry for processing. Position is also responsible for operation of various flatwork finishing equipment. Additional responsibilities include record keeping, and taking inventories. Job Specific Assists driver in the unloading of carts containing soiled linen and terry products Removes soiled items from laundry carts and places them on conveyor Removes damaged/stained items for special processing Sorts and separates items by fabric type and wash requirements Programs finishing equipment to process various types of linen and terry products Feeds washed damp/dry linens on to ironer/folder, or folds dry linens by hand Feeds dry terry products on to folder, or folds by hand Sorts, stacks and counts finished linen and terry products Maintains production records Coordinates monthly inventory of all linen and terry products, determines loss quantities and statistics Reports all equipment problems to supervisor Maintains cleanliness and organization of all work areas Other duties as assigned General Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards Complies with required safety regulations and procedures Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules Recycles whenever possible Remains current with hotel information and changes Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
