Join the Customer Quality team and be a part of Blue Shield's strategy. In this role, you'll have an opportunity to work in a cross-functional role, gaining exposure to different parts of the business and different levels of the organization.
With a focus on productivity, the right resource will lead and support Six Sigma LEAN efforts targeted toward streamlining existing processes, optimizing cycle times, reducing errors, and improving client satisfaction as identified by the business strategy.
Responsibilities:
* Maximize value by achieving the fastest rate of improvement in customer satisfaction, cost, quality, process speed, and invested capital.
* Manage and lead cross-functional process improvement projects and business wide improvement initiatives.
* Utilize Lean Six Sigma to improve process effectiveness and alignment with the voice of the customer.
* Define business requirements and provide analysis toward operational efficiency and drive change within the organization.
* Lead the development of complex analysis and documentation of as-is and to-be business processes.
* Develop key business operational metrics, dashboards, and reports for process control, benchmarking, and management review.
* Develop robust controls to maintain improvements and establish local process ownership.
* Provides input into designing strategies for alignment with business unit goals and objectives.
* Act as a change agent/coach to instill and sustain changes.
* Trains, mentors & coaches department personnel on how and when to use Lean tools.
Skills & Experience (the ideal candidate will be strong in most or all of these):
* Tangible track record of applying Lean techniques to complex projects that lead to significant and sustainable results in a cross-functional environment.
* Ability to lead Lean Kaizen events.
* Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
* Demonstrated skills in business process modeling and analysis.
* Ability to analyze cross-functional processes and suggest effective solutions.
* Extensive experience in creating both 'As Is' and 'To Be' process modeling, dashboards, and control plans.
* Teamwork, ability to coach others, motivate, build consensus and respect, and encourage new ideas and participation.
* Ability to quickly adapt to new challenges and new environments.
* Strong oral and written business and presentation communication skills.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to suggest viable options as the solutions of the problems.
* Project management experience required.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Power Point and statistical analysis software.
Education/Requirements:
* 5 years of process improvement experience required.
* Certified Green Belt by ASQ or a leading company, with executed projects.
* B.A/B.S. degree.
