This position is expected to understand, propose, educate and help implement new business processes through business operations and new systems. This position will work to continually understand business requirements, document them in standard formats, obtain business user approval and work them seamlessly into the bigger picture. Using business process engineering techniques, develops technical solutions and management processes to achieve overall objectives by means of implementing systems or enterprise-wide solutions, using the company's or a third-party's hardware/software products. Develops and recommends solutions and strategies, based on the analysis of customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing systems infrastructure. Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options, plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing, and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. This position should be proficient in object modeling and use case analysis. Proficient in use of enterprise level use case modeling tools. While it is the goal to use an object modeling approach that leads to system creation, this position must be experienced enough to adjust the approach as to meet project goals, people's understanding and avoid making the process overly technical. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. Expected to possess facilitation skills to include the application of facilitation tools and techniques. Understands team dynamics, has the ability to apply collaborative problem solving techniques, understands how to deal effectively with team conflict and other difficult situations involving team members. Possess planning and organization skills to develop and lead workshop events such as joint application development workshops. Expected to develop business requirements, do business analysis, understand and analyze the competitive situation, understand business practices and approaches, recommend business process changes, understand how to integrate systems and business processes, drive their work into systems initiatives, lead system selection processes, understand business organization, politics and culture, manage change in the business resulting from IT applications, help users develop processes, procedures, and training, conduct significant systems testing, support data conversions, support local system rollouts, exercise any required project management and execute all work in alignment with the company's systems plans. - KNOWLEDGE: Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. - JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Contacts pertain to significant matters often involving coordination among groups. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division or company operations. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.- SUPERVISION: Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. May supervise the activities of others. Leads the strategic development and design of principles, processes, models, and standards that address business requirements and goals. Directs the development and implementation of technical enterprise wide solutions, using the company's or a third-party's products. Oversees the completion of customer solutions and strategies based on the analysis of the customer's business goals, objectives, needs, and general business environment. Provides both management and technical leadership. Uses project management tools to estimate projects and monitor the status. Reviews completed proposals for technical integrity, quantification of risk, and strategic direction prior to presentation to customer.
