JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities:Responsible for developing a training platform including:
needs analysis, curriculum, implementation strategies, skills assessment and training effectiveness/absorption tracking. The individual determines future training topics, leads the curriculum writing/development process and facilitates execution of designated training modules.The position works closely with our internal Office Depot Learning Organizations, training vendors, and/or external partners to utilize the tools, processes, systems and support to successfully create and deploy development programs to the field.The scope of this position will cross multiple functions within the BSD organization and will be responsible for coordinating and integrating a holistic approach across such categories as:
general lines; furniture, technology, design, copy and print; education, global and national accounts; and any new business ventures that fall under the BSD umbrella.The Sr. Manager, Training will be responsible for partnering with the leadership teams within the BSD organization to develop their sales, management and leadership skills. These responsibilities include liaising with the groups outlined above to coordinate and facilitate the management/leadership training programs which currently exist on a corporate basis and complement them with the introduction of new or third party material as appropriate.Further, the breadth of programs developed need to be designed around and support an employee lifecycle:
orientation, selling skills, product knowledge, system knowledge, management skills, and leadership development. Owns and manages BSD training programs on a national scope. This include their creation, development and deployment. Provides accurate reporting and ongoing metrics for each program owned, assesses results and identifies gaps. Ensures content is continuously improved to meet the changing requirements of our customers and marketplace. Facilitates programs where needed to include courses such as New Hire, Selling skills, and Technology training. Monitors Sales Reps, Account Managers and Management behavior to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement while providing the tools and structure for appropriate action plans. Set baseline measures by documenting associates' current competencies via assessments. Identify targets for closing competency gaps Work with and provide guidance to Leadership team on conducting sales-related needs assessments and develops new curriculum when there is an identified need. Aligned to a region and partner with regional leadership to drive L and D programs into the field. Drives training to our leadership positions to increase our strategic and coaching capacity. Set goals for internal communication and change management plans that will accompany the comprehensive action plan to address the organization's skills and selling culture gap Stay abreast of the latest training and performance management trends and concepts Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a Training / Business realted Field Seven Years of in-depth experience on sales and sales training Other Information:Require a in depth knowledge of B2B business activities and proven knowledge how to drive sales performance In depth knowledge of MS Office products, CRM system a plus. Eventually develop strong knowledge of Office Depot website and e-commerce systems. Strong Training and Development background Demonstrable understanding of adult learning behaviors Excellent presentation and facilitation skills Knowledgeable of instructional design concepts Effective at conducting needs analysis Strong interpersonal skills Strong sales skills that includes professional and consultative selling skills experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong team focus High level of initiative to achieve goals Proven negotiation skills PC knowledge with the aptitude to learn new technology-related tools Solid work ethic and demonstrated commitment to the organization and training profession. Ability to develop and foster relationships within the department, organization and Company.
