At Pfizer, colleagues in more than 90 countries work every day to help people stay happier & healthier longer & to reduce the human & economic burden of disease worldwide. br /br /strongRole Description /strongbr /Colleague will oversee for the site's Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) & Engineering functions. br /Responsible for developing/nurturing an effective safety & environmental culture at the site. Ensures that management systems are in place to comply with all Federal, State & local Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations. Anticipates regulatory & compliance needs, informing management of the potential financial & operational impact of pending legislation, & provides leadership through policies & services to protect the health & safety of colleagues & protect site operations & the public. br /Partners with operations & global engineering for capital, maintenance, & equipment design, purchase & installations. Ensures the successful (i.e. safe, timely, high quality, cost effective, legal) implementation of assigned projects. br /br /strongResponsibilities /strongbr /br /br /Manages & supervises the EHS program for the Pfizer facility. Develops site environmental, health & safety policies & procedures. br /br /Establishes a formal program to administer the facility's hazard evaluation activities &, where applicable, Process Safety Management (PSM) program. br /br /Responsible for development & implementation of EHS management systems to strategically & directionally move site operations beyond regulatory compliance. br /br /Supervises the submittal of all EHS reports in a complete & timely fashion as required by regulatory authorities or corporate procedures. Hosts government inspections, coordinates inspection reports & ensures the timely correction of any outst&ing items as a result of inspections.br /br /Investigates serious injuries, illnesses, business interruptions & property losses directly or through site colleagues as appropriate to identify root causation & help develop measures/programs to prevent.br /br /Provides EHS & engineering support for construction, operations, laboratory & maintenance activities at the site. This may include evaluation of equipment, support for upgrade or demolition activities, oversight/training of contractors & other engineering based tasks. It also includes assistance in identifying solution technologies for compliance with safety, air, water, & waste compliance needs. br /br /Oversees the work of contractor personnel, evaluates safety performance of contractor employees; gives advice on both work & administrative matters with authority to amend or stop work if there is a safety imperative. br /br /Prepares Capital Project Appropriation requests (CPAs) for assigned projects. Provide or arrange for development of complete design documentation for assigned projects. Administer, resolve, & control all design, construction, contractual & financial issues on assigned projects.br /br /Completes assigned projects by starting-up & checking-out all new equipment & systems, inspecting construction, developing & ensuring complete resolution of punch list items. Provide qualification documentation for assigned project as applicable
