Job Description

Title: Lead QA engineer (Full time)

Location: NY

Duration: Full time

As a technical, hands-on QA Lead Engineer, your job is to oversee and participate in the testing and delivery of various web-based projects that integrate over various systems, including: third-party financial account linking tools (think Mint and Personal Capital), call scheduling, email delivery, CRMs (Salesforce), and complex financial planning interfaces and algorithms.

You will be initially leading a small team that, with your guidance, will grow in number to fulfill various project needs that span over manual, automation, and performance testing. You'll work with the QA Director to make sure that QA processes are being followed and adapted as the projects diversify and grow.

Your general milestones are the following:

Within the first three weeks, whilst working with current QA resources, be able to jump head-first into a new project and ask the appropriate questions / do the appropriate research to identify a thorough testing strategy and provide assistance, either manual or technical, if necessary.

Within two months, be able to take the reins of new projects ensure that proper manual, automation, and performance tests are planned and executed.

Within three months, be able to discuss high-level functionality and infrastructure of entire website. You should understand all basic user flows and how the technology behind it works.

To learn node.js to working proficiency within 4months.

Within five months, be able to make basic scenario contributions to current automation test infrastructure (written in node.js)

Within six months, be able to write basic performance tests in Jmeter.

Within six months, identify the need for additional QA engineers and onboard / guide new engineers on your team to a competent, functional level.


Proven results of delivering and process improvement (with references).

Previous experience leading a team is a must.

Technical, must enjoy getting your hands dirty.

Competency with any programming language.

Can move quickly. Everyone here is incredibly kind and extremely willing to share knowledge and a helping hand, but you have to be willing to take ownership of the outlined goals and make things happen.
