Lead Marketing Data Analyst
Job Description
The lead marketing data analyst is responsible for the analysis of transactional marketing, sales and business data with the purpose of understanding and making conclusions from the data for decision-making purposes to support awareness, pipeline generation, pipeline acceleration and customer retention activities. This would include importing, cleaning, transforming, validating and/or modeling data from multiple systems/databases, drawing inferences and presenting the findings to marketing executives and leadership team.
- Good understanding of the demand waterfall and the various phases and KPIs associated, SiriusDecisions framework knowledge would be a plus
- Providing analysis of marketing and related sales activity data (programs, campaigns, tactics, leads, opportunities, etc.)
- Designing research projects to answer particular marketing/business questions
- Analyzing marketing data for identifying cause-effect relationships between marketing actions to increase revenue and financial outcomes
- Integrating market research information with sales and business information to identify new marketing opportunities that generate new leads/opportunities and/or accelerate existing opportunities to close
- Presenting conclusions, making recommendations and driving action based on the data
- A very strong understanding of data analysis techniques and processes
- Strong knowledge of B2B marketing and sales processes
- Able to present findings to leadership team including Directors and VPs
- Able to work with team members offshore (India) to give clear guidance and direction
- Must have strong analytical skills and strong knowledge of statistics
- Must have a strong knowledge of SAS, Business Objects, MS Excel (Macro)
- Experience with marketing automation and sales force automation tools (Eloqua/SFDC)
- Experience with scripting languages(s) such as R, Python, or any other open-sourc
- End-to- end experience with BI analytics/visualization tools such as MicroStrategy or
- Very detailed oriented, able to multi-task, and follow through on action items
- Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Be able to handle pressure situations in a tactful and professional manner
- Mature and experienced interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport and relationships quickly
- Strong skills with the rest of the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics required, Masters Degree preferred. Eight years experience in market research, data mining or market intelligence positions required. This position requires knowledge of standard research methodologies, data analysis techniques and B-B marketing processes. Experience in B-B marketing preferred.
Knowledge of the enterprise management software industry is preferred. Education/Experience Required:
Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics required, Masters Degree preferred. Eight years experience in market research, data mining or market intelligence positions required.
