The Lead Resident Assistant maintains the personal care department in State Survey Readiness at all times by assisting in training of staff and ensuring that all resident files meet state requirements; oversight of medication changes, doctors' orders, and staff documentation of medication assistance; and ensuring that medications from pharmacies are curremt and accurate. Interacts with residents, families, pharmacies, and physicians on a daily basis. The lead resident assistant also fulfills the duties of the resident assistant and maintains supplies throughout the department.
Required Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivilent with course work/training associated with CNA, NCA, MA, CMA, or LPN.
Required Minimum Experience: 2-4 years leadership experience preferred in a similar settting with older adults. Experience with medication assistance and State Survey Readiness is a must.
Required Minimum Skills: Good customer service and communication skills required; demonstrated curteous and positive attitude; must be able to read and write; ability to relate well with staff members, residents, and familes; current CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain instruction. Basic computer skills with Window based environment for participation in training and resident documentation. Organizational skills and attention to details are essential.
