Responsibilities:Lead Tax Exemption Analyst primary responsibility is the review and reporting of the customer sales tax exemption process. The sales tax exemption process involves multiple customer contacts across all channels. While the day to day contact is handled by the group, an overall process review and control is necessary to ensure that the service is consistent and protects the Company from exposure. The Lead position will be primarily responsible for monitoring and developing metrics to measure the effectiveness of the group, develop recommendations to improve the performance of the group and training process to implement any necessary changes. The Lead will interact with the State Tax Audit group to ensure that the risks are managed and to provide feedback to the group on issues discovered in the tax exempt process.
In addition:
Developsand maintain performance metrics that record the tax exempt group workload and response times. Report to management the performance metrics and recommend change to the process to address any shortfalls. Actively work with A/R to ensure that the issues in the 'Root Cause Report' are addressed to reduce contract customers tax disputes and summarized the reasons for the tax disputes on the top 10 customers. Liaison with the audit group and sales tax systems regularly to address issues in billing and audits that can be improved in real time. Report to the group on possible improvements Represent the Tax area as a point of contact for any customer impacting projects, e.g. customer migration or POS change, impacting the tax exempt process Assist in training of new associates as well as cross-training of team members Assist the team in staying within the 48 hours customer service turn around time Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:High School diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience.
