Under the direction of the NFRC Associate Director of Training, the Lead Trainer will develop, conduct, and assist in the

evaluation of trainings for fellows, medical students, psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals on evidence-based

treatment approaches for children with histories of trauma, or family-centered prevention and intervention for at-risk families, including training in

the FOCUS model. The incumbent will utilize their mastery and thorough knowledge of the FOCUS suite of services, clinical skills, as well as

adult learning theory and practice to optimize the experience and knowledge acquired by trainees. The Lead Trainer will be responsible for

providing technical assistance and model (clinical) supervision via telephone or teleconference to community providers trained in the FOCUS

model. The Lead Trainer will supervise the scheduling and quality improvement of all training provided by NFRC staff, and will assist in the

development of a variety of training materials.


Advanced degree in a mental health related field (MA, Psy.D, Ph.D. or Ed.D.); clinical eligible

Bilingual fluency in English & Spanish required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated through knowledge of the FOCUS program or similar manualized psycho-educational training programs

Ability to communicate complex information to people with varying levels of education and training and different learning styles

Experience leading trainings for clinical staff and administrative staff

Clinical experience working with children and families

Ability to provide clinical support for staff at remote sites who are dealing with challenging cases and caseloads

Demonstrated excellence in training curriculum development

Experience in developing educational materials for dissemination through an Internet-based platform

Skill in keeping accurate records, demonstrated attention to detail .

Skill in developing rapport with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds

Demonstrated ability to learn and follow study protocols

Knowledge of the mental health issues impacting military families

A track record of ethical and professional behavior

Ability to work effectively and closely with other members of the project team

Demonstrated ability to conduct resourceful problem solving

Ability to work flexible hours

Must have valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to an automobile

Willingness to travel to service delivery sites to deliver training

Familiarity with collaborative workgroup and reporting tools, including SalesForce, Access, and SharePoint

Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Power Point. Ability to operate personal computers
