JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Train staff, provide work direction and coordinate the schedules and activities of assigned personal, assist in training workers

* Inspect hazardous cargo to ensure proper compliance with safety regulations

* Assure compliance with corporate warehouse policies and procedures

* Report to management on any unusual issues regarding shipments

* Recommend changes in procedures in order to improve the warehouse area and operating efficiency

* Organizing and developing systematic plans for monitoring and coordinate work flow for freight movement

* Ensure and acknowledge receipt of freight, and provide necessary information to operations staff for further processing

* Ensure that full pre-use of & shut down checks are carried out by users of warehouse equipment and supplies

* Control/monitor proper documentation and labeling

* Ensure structured and planned training with development for self and team to maximize skill levels, flexibility and absence cover. Provide timely and constructive feedback on the effectiveness of training, make suggestions for improvement

* Ensure all employees are following company policies and OSHA laws

* Ensure proper use of safety procedures, practices, use of PPE, safe use of equipment, stocking and storage.

* Timely response to customer inquires

* Monitor maintenance of the filing system for the operational departments

* Delegations of tasks to team according to priority and workflow

* Communicate with personnel, departments and others to provide and receive information, resolve questions and issues coordinate all activities.

* Conduct BU meetings, team meetings, and complete turnover reports

* When required load/unload consignments and compare freight with documents to avoid any discrepancies

* Assign location of freight, based on its nature

* Assure accurate labeling of freight by double-checking that marks on freight and warehouse receipt number correspond to the transport document

* Ensure that high a standard of general housekeeping is maintained on a clean as you go basis warehouse neat, clean and organized

* Assure that complete documentation accompanies freight leaving the dock and that documents for freight received are handed over to the corresponding department

* Assure proper storage and handling of freight, including, but not limited to, making sure that pallets are stable and in good condition

* Flexibility of work schedule

* To be a key holder and to ensure building opens, secure and locked up and the alarm is set as required

QUALIFICATIONS

* 3 year s experience in a warehouse environment

* Must be able to work 2nd Shift and weekends

* Excellent and thorough knowledge of warehouse environment and its regulation

* In depth knowledge of warehouse processes
