Rush University Medical Center Presents an opportunity for an experienced LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT. Under general direction, this individual will research, design, implement, facilitate, evaluate and evolve programs necessary to ensure a pipeline of leadership talent across Rush University Medical Center. This person will focus on the sustained performance process, culture change and leadership development strategy at Rush. This role will ensure we are developing the skills and capabilities of our leaders at all levels to support the evolutionary growth and transformation of our academic health system. This is a highly visible position with significant exposure to senior level executives and the opportunity to be autonomous and creative, and to lead innovative, best practice projects within a receptive and well-resourced environment. This role will play a vital role in advancing Rush s unique culture and building a bench of leaders in our growth-oriented organization. Must exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*

Research, design, develop and evaluate world-class leadership development programs.
*

Responsible for needs analysis, end-to-end design, development, implementation and sustaining a portfolio of programs with the goal of developing a strong leadership base and pipeline for advancement.
*

Collaborate with stakeholders on how to achieve the desired results efficiently and effectively, addressing the root cause(s) of performance gaps rather than symptoms or side effects.
*

Continually evaluates solutions for quality, business impact, scalability and sustainability. Conducts needs assessments and post-learning evaluation to understand successes and improvement opportunities for the designed solution while establishing methods for ensuring both consistency and quality.
*

Identify gaps in specific competencies for specific leadership roles, levels and focuses (educational, clinical, administrative, etc.).
*

Define the vision, experiences, and structure of learning paths.
*

Collaborate to define and refine Rush s management and leadership development philosophy and strategy.
*

Articulate, model and build consensus around a clear vision of leadership development with leaders at all levels.
*

Bring innovative and creative leadership development solutions to bear on complex organization development needs by leveraging proven best practices, progressive thinking, technology, and out of the-box- problem solving.
*

Work closely with senior management team across the enterprise to identify and anticipate learning needs of front-line and senior level leaders.
*

Develop measures, benchmarks and/or scorecards to monitor the effectiveness of leadership development efforts; apply these measures to drive progress in talent management and retention.
*

Perform related duties as required.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



KNOWLEDGE:

*

Master s degree in Organization Development, Industrial/Organizational or Counseling Psychology, Leadership, Business, Healthcare, Education, HR or related discipline required; doctorate strongly preferred.
*

Minimum 10 years experience in leadership development, adult learning and development, or related fields required.
*

Experience in leadership roles required.
*

Experience in healthcare and academic settings preferred.
*

Knowledge of global leadership development theory and diversity theory and competence.
*

Experience in adult education and instructional design required, including delivery for multiple modalities (classroom, self-paced, virtual instructor-led, etc.).
*

Understanding of academic health systems and Rush s positioning within the industry.
*

Understanding of evaluation and research principles and methodologies, including needs assessment and outcomes assessment.
*

Knowledge of organizational design, organization development, design thinking and innovation and systems theory.



SKILLS:

*

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to work with a senior client audience.
*

Excellent skills in writing, editing and proofreading for clarity, accuracy and conciseness.
*

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
*

Good prioritization and project management skills.
*

Proven problem-solving skills.
*

Good analytical skills and the ability to create logical recommendations.
*

Evidence of initiative and follow-through.
*

Strong organizational and time management skills.
*

Experience using consulting, conflict resolution, negotiation and influence skills.
