Job Description

We are currently seeking a Finance Director of Lease Accounting to be part of our Special Projects Team for Client Finance within our Corporate Solutions Group. Our Corporate Solutions Group creates transformative outsourcing partnerships that help our clients improve the cost, efficiency, and performance of their real estate portfolio.

This senior leadership role was created to oversee the implementation of the new Lease Accounting standards (ASC 840 842 & IFRS MS1 17). Our Director will be responsible for leading the Lease Accounting functions including; providing technical expertise, sales, management and delivery of lease accounting services and support of special projects as directed by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead lease accounting service delivery
*

Function as the project manager for the lease accounting implementation
*

Work closely with Lease administration, Consulting, Client Finance and IT to ensure success in rolling out Lease Accounting services
*

Function as the Company s in house subject matter expert on all lease accounting matters
*

Develop accounting and reporting processes to account for new and changes to existing leases
*

Provide technical expertise for the development of lConfigure the lease accounting application tools to meet the client requirements - including reporting and journal entries required to account for both new leases and for changes to existing leases.
*

Oversee all lease accounting functions and manage a group of approx. 3-5 people
*

Provide project management leadership to drive lease process enhancements related to existing accounting functions
*

Participate in special projects, as assigned
*

Oversee and provide training to finance and lease administration staff and clients on the new accounting standard
*

Serve as the lead business process owner for the implementation of business systems related to the new lease standard.
*

Key financial/accounting liaison for business unit executives, product line owners and corporate. Act as advisor and strategic partner to these groups for all financial, operational and client matters
*

Responsible for the preparation of analysis and dashboard reporting for CAO and CFO of the client group, as well as corporate.
*

Ensure compliance with both JLL Internal Audit and Client Accounting Services SOC 1 formally SAS 70 internal review standards.

Represent the Company with third party vendors and consultants that support the leasing process


Qualifications:

*

Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or MBA is preferred
*

A minimum of 10 years of related work experience
*

CPA required
*

Prior experience leading Lease Accounting/Analysis teams preferred.
*

Advanced experience in Accounting for complex lease agreements
*

5 years of direct management/supervisory experience; including training and evaluation of staff
*

Audit and internal controls background a plus
*

Technical accounting skills
*

Familiarity with transaction and project management.
*

Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
*

Proficiency in computer-based lease administration applications.
*

Strong analytical, organizational, and coordination skills
*

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*

Strong presentation skills to internal and external parties
*

Demonstrated consistency in values, principles and work ethic
*

Understanding of and commitment to client service
*

A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment
*

Travel as required
