Job Description
PRIMARY ROLE
The Leave of Absence Manager will provide compliant oversight and leadership in the development, implementation and coordination of the Company Leave Program Administration.
This position will participate actively in reengineering initiatives and new global processes while ensuring compliance mandates, and will operationalize the Leave administration to implement a tier based service center that is aligned with self-service system technology and inquiry center support for leave matters.
In addition, the Leave of Absence Manager will foster a team environment and a strong culture of customer service that will ensure program effectiveness and optimal service delivery in support of the Company s global HR Operations model.

RESPONSIBILITIES
40% HR Business Services Effectiveness:
Oversees administration of Leave of Absence Programs and policies.
Creates and/or streamlines and implements processes and tools for the Company leave programs
Collaborates with the HRIS team to ensure successful vendor interfaces are in place within the Company HR systems for accurate data recording and reporting
Drives the implementation, communication, and administration of leave programs
Revises internal documents, policies and communications as necessary to ensure company compliance
Develops, generates and presents reports to analyze leave data and trends
Supervises all aspects of the employee customer service operations related to Leave matters
Liaises with Employee Relations, Managers and key stakeholders to improve processes and procedures and optimize financial costs of leaves
Ensures efficient support of the operational day-to-day HR transactions related to leaves of absence company policies and procedures
Serves as the subject matter expert for the leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and Legal

30% Third-Party and Vendor Management:
Manages the relationship between the Company and third party benefits consultants/administrators to ensure smooth functionality of leave programs
Reviews proposals for new or revised Leave programs
Reviews and analyzes program utilization. Makes recommendations on strategies to maintain cost effectiveness, and implement changes and/or enhancements

30% People Leadership:
Oversees a team that administers all aspects of employee leaves to ensure compliance with company policies, federal and state leave regulations, while providing instruction, guidance and excellent customer service to employees, managers and business stakeholders
Coaches employees in order to retain and expand organizational talent through focused attention and effort
Provides timely and constructive feedback on a regular basis to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles and the business
Manages performance issues when necessary
Works with employees on their career development plans

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education and Knowledge
Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources or a related field and 5+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
A CEBS and/or SPHR certification is desirable
General understanding of employee benefits as they relate to leaves of absence, including short/long term disability, COBRA, state disability pay, ADA, FMLA, etc.

Experience
5 years Leave Administration experience required
2 years of supervisory experience of 3 or more employees preferred
Experience in project management with significant emphasis on process redesign is preferred
Experience establishing collaborative initiatives with multiple departments
Prior benefits administration management experience in a shared services environment is preferred
Experience in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Demonstrated experience implementing HRIS processes and understanding the technical, business and people-related dynamics to consider as new systems are installed
Workday experience preferred but not required
Previous experience with management of multiple vendors
