Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant LPTA - FT Days-01505-65483 Primary Location: United States-Texas-Dallas Job: Therapy amp; Rehabilitation Schedule: Full-time * Treats acute care, and out-patients under the supervision of a licensed therapist. * Involved in assisting the therapists in implementation of treatment programs according to the plan of care devised by a therapist, preparing patients and treatment areas, training patients in exercises and activities of daily living, using special equipment, doing gait training and using gait training techniques, applying external bandages, dressings and supports, performing goniometric measurements, teaching patients and families selected procedures and functional activities, administering modalities and other treatment procedures, modifying treatment techniques as indicated in the plan of care and reporting to the supervising therapist on the patients responses to treatment. * May treat neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Required Job Qualifications include: * Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program * State licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant. * Critical thinking and judgment particularly in determining when to inform the therapist of a significant change in the patients condition. * Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider. * Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting patients and or equipment up to 50 pounds. * Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
