Greets patients and prepares them for examinations, EKG. Screens patients for appropriate information. Assist with follow-up instructions to patient under direction of physician, Nurse Practitioner or Cardiology Nurse Clinician. Proficient in patient protocol, charting in EMR Knowledge of obtaining vital signs, obtaining pertinent patient information history. Greets patients and prepares them for examinations/EKG. Screens patients for appropriate information. Maintains orderly and efficient timely flow of patients. Provide INR results to patients. Recommend next INR check per protocol. Assist with preparation of home testing as needed. Complete refills per protocol. Review and collaborate with physician oversight on values outside of protocol. Communicate with outside labs and triage phone calls as needed. Other duties as delegated by RN or MD within the State Board scope of LPN practice. Receive home monitoring test results and enter on template. Receive outside lab results and enter on template. Knowledge of appropriate resources (i.e., which supplies we use, where to get information, etc.). Daily preparation of patients for appointments. Gathering clinical data for chart prior to visit time. Preparation and monitoring of exam room. Interpret and recognize arrhythmias and respond to abnormal EKG interpretations. Coordinate CBU time to optimize clinic resources.Requirements Licensed in Missouri and Kansas BLS certified ACLS preferred 2 years Cardiology experience preferred General computer skills MS word; MS outlook; GPMS; MS excel Knowledge of general clinical equipment EKG machine; BP equipment; fax machine; copiers; pagers; O2 equipment; pulse ox machine; glucose, lipid profile and coagulation meters Phlebotomy experience preferred use of lab draw equipment & handling of specimens
