Job Description

Southeast Georgia Health System has an opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at our Senior Care Center in Brunswick, Georgia.
Licensed Practical Nurse-Long Term Care

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LPN provides patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluation; uses good judgment; utilizes patient care supplies/equipment in a fiscally responsible manner; and exhibits positive interpersonal skills.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manages the care of assigned patients using knowledge, clinical skills, judgment and decision making skills for the specific area, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
2. Delivers patient care utilizing guidelines of care and appropriate resources, including personnel, services, supplies and equipment.
3. Reviews, evaluates and takes appropriate action regarding results of diagnostic tests.
4. Administers medications according to SGHS policy.
5. Assists the RN in performing the nursing assessment to identify and prioritize physical psychosocial and cultural needs in order to develop a plan of care
6. Evaluates and reassesses nursing interventions based on interdisciplinary plan of care and makes revisions as appropriate.
7. Assists with the development and implementation of a patient/family education plan. Documentation meets compliance with regulatory standards.

This is a non-exempt position at pay grade 18.

The ideal Licensed Practical Nurse will possess the following minimum qualifications:
* Graduate of an LPN program
* Current licensure to practice as a LPN in the state of Georgia
* Nursing skills as defined in the law governing the practice of nursing in Georgia
* Current American Heart Association CPR Certification (BCLS) is preferred
