The Canyon at Peace Park is a private, secluded retreat
in the beautiful hills of Malibu, California. Our
treatment philosophy is simple: specialized,

FRN is currently seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Nurse
Practitioner, to provide effective treatment and
physical well-being to residential patients, and consult
with the program staff. The ideal candidate will have
the ability to inspire our clients confidence in both
our staff and the FRN Model of Treatment. This position
will be located at Foundations Recovery Network s
facility, The Canyon at Peace Park, located in Malibu,
California.

Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs routine and emergent comprehensive
clinical/psychiatric evaluations and
psycho-pharmacologic treatment of patients at admission
and ongoing, completing documentation of all evaluations
and treatment visits on the day of the session and
according to FRN documentation requirements
Participates in treatment planning team meetings and
after-care planning
Ensures timely meetings with clients and provides
timely documentation of related notes
Ensures delivery of emergency medical care when the
patient s attending physician is unavailable
Monitors lab levels and specialty tests
Practices according to industry standards for
psychopharmacologic treatment
Communicates with Medical Director and treatment team
regarding status and treatment of patients
Provides input into clinical staffing
Actively participates in regular supervision sessions
with Medical Director
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to inspire client confidence in the FRN Staff
and the FRN Model of Treatment
Ability to consistently demonstrate, through conduct
and communications, the stability required to
effectively assist patients and their family members
through the FRN Model of Treatment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
required
Must have high level of interpersonal skills, as
position continually requires demonstrated poise,
professionalism, tact, and diplomacy
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to
prioritize workload and meet deadlines
Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of
models and theories of addiction, MI, and related issues
Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and
outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse
prevention, and continuing care for dually diagnosed
populations
Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer
software applications in word processing, spreadsheets,
and presentations (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Understands need for and maintains appropriate
confidentiality at all times when interacting with
patients, residents, families, visitors, referral
sources, and all other contacts
Understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual
conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and
placement criteria within the continuum of care
Exhibits excellent customer relations skills as
evidenced by supportive and constructive communication
with all contacts including coworkers, patients,
residents, visitors, families, and referral sources
Education and Experience
Must possess an active, unencumbered license as a
Nurse Practitioner with specialty in addiction medicine
and/or psychiatry.
Expertise treating patients with mental illness and
chemical dependency
Board eligible or Board certified as a Nurse
Practitioner
Minimum 2 years experience working in with
co-occurring disorders
