Life Guidance/Memory Care Program Assistant - Atria Bay Spring Village

We are currently seeking an experienced Life Guidance Program Assistant to join our team at Atria Bay Spring Village in Barrington, RI. The primary job function of the Life Guidance Program Assistant is to provide, coordinate and champion the programs and activities for our Life Guidance residents (i.e. dementia, or memory care, residents). You will provide support, interactions and care to our residents, team members and family members.

Scope of Responsibilities Include:
- Leads assigned Life Guidance programs and assist in developing service plans
- Coaches, motivates and molds the LG program to staff
- Has working knowledge of group process and group dynamic
- Offers diversified recreational activities to residents
- Proactively involves all Life Guidance staff in the planning and implementation of daily programming, including activities of daily living
- Plans individual birthday celebrations for each resident
- Engages and motivates residents to participate in programs and activities
- Greets new residents making a special effort to include and engage them in activities and introduce them to others in the community with similar interests and backgrounds
- Maintains records of all activities, resident participation levels and acceptance of each activity by residents
- Demonstrates an ability to help coordinate calendar ideas.
Requirements Include:
- High School diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree)
- 1-2 years experience creating or contributing to the creation of a quality dementia program is preferred
- Prior recreational therapy or activity planning experience preferred
- Excellent people skills, able to maintain positive relationships with residents, families and co-workers
-High energy that can motivate residents, staff and families
- Has a working knowledge of Dementia and a passion for the residents
- Team Player
