* Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals\. This position will be located in Fairmont, WV\.Put your years of experience into a future of excellence\.\.\. The Linux Systems Engineer will become part of Northrop Grumman's biometric identification programs supporting the DoD\. The ideal candidate will be a flexible and energetic individual in the Information Technology field\. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team\. Must have current vendor operating system certification and current DoD 8570\.01M certification or must be willing to obtain one within 180 days of hire\. Local and Domestic Travel may be required with the potential of future international travel\. Extended hours or On\-Call may be required\. No funds have been allocated for relocation\. All candidates must be in the Fairmont, WV commuting area or be willing to relocate at his/her expense\. A full Top Secret Clearance will be required for unescorted access to DoJ Facilities\.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performs design, technical planning, and implementation support for Linux\-based systems- Implements systems in accordance with relevant Defense Information Systems Agency \(DISA\) Security Technical Implementation Guide \(STIG\)- Coordinates design decisions and implementation plans with other engineering teams as appropriate- Supports development and test infrastructure in an administrative capacity- Creates and modifies engineering and other technical documents- Assists independent verification and validation efforts as appropriate- Leads and participates in integrated project teams- Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans- Performs trade studies- Translates requirements into hardware and software specificationsThis position can be filled at a level 2 or level 3

* Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

* To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- BS in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of two \(2\) years of directly related work experience; or, an additional six \(6\) years of work experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree- Linux OSExperience deploying operating systems, application software, and updates using mass deployment technologies- Experience with creating and maintaining technical documentation- Experience with workstations and blade architectures- DoD 8570 requirement:
IAT II and Relevant Vendor Certification will be required within180 days- Must be a US Citizen with at least a current DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
