Job Description

Responsible for all aspects of the provision of litigation support and electronic discovery services, from case inception through trial or settlement. Responsible for providing consulting services to litigation teams; gathering and analyzing project requirements; preparing written litigation support project plans for client approval; managing the approved project plan with respect to budget, schedule, and the quality and timeliness of all deliverables; managing external providers of litigation support/electronic discovery services; design and ongoing administration of litigation support databases and applications; the provision of user/technical support and training services; and preparation for trial and the provision of trial support services. Provide in-house consulting services to the firm’s litigation practice with respect to litigation support and electronic discovery. Provide education and guidance to attorneys and litigation professionals with respect to electronic discovery and associated risks and benefits, technologies, and best practices. Prepare comprehensive litigation support project plans for meeting litigation support requirements for the duration of the litigation support life-cycle, including those pertaining to affirmative and defensive discovery, depositions, pre-trial preparations and hearings, and preparations for trial and the provision of on-site trial support equipment, systems, and services. Design and maintain litigation support databases and applications, and maintains case-specific evidentiary data stores. Expansive knowledge of electronic discovery risks and benefits, methodologies and practices, technologies, tools and products, and service providers. Sound general knowledge of contemporary computing standards, practices, and technologies. Familiarity with MS Windows-based desktop computing and the MS Office suite. Thorough knowledge and understanding of at least one PC-based litigation support database application (e.g., Concordance). Proficiency with Casemap and Livenote; familiarity with trial presentation software (e.g., Sanction or Trial Director). Solid organizational, writing, and interpersonal communications skills. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a law firm litigation support position or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a vendor of litigation support services and/or; a minimum of 3 years as a litigation legal assistant or attorney with substantial experience relevant to electronic discovery and/or litigation support, and substantial exposure to PC-based litigation support systems. Bachelor’s degree or 8 years law firm/vendor experience as stated above. EEO M/F/V/D
