Job Description

The Regional Underwriting/Closing Manager will support one or multiple Areas through the management of Area Underwriting/Closing Managers as well as overall management of the operations support organization within span of control. Specific responsibilities of this position are:- Partner with Regional business leadership and Site Fulfillment Leadership in establishing best business practices, while adhering to company policies and conduct resource needs assessment by forecasting and trending of pipeline in an effort to appropriately staff and manage the workload of span of control. - Provide escalation support between sales teams and external vendors and customers to ensure underwriting/closing team is effective in the administration of each loan transaction. Ensure loan transactions are completed appropriately and in a timely manner.- Provide updates and reporting as appropriate to Regional Manager and Area Managers as it relates to the performance of the fulfillment site function.- Participate in strategic planning discussions for the Region and providing recommendations regarding future direction. Management Accountabilities:- Lead and Manage staff of 75-100 non-exempt indirect report team members in multiple loan administration teams for a defined operations group. Team members under direct reporting structure encompass managers and individual contributors. - Responsible for, or participates in, the hiring, coaching, developing and supervising of team members, including decisions relative to performance reviews, terminations, hires, discipline, salary actions, etc. Influence performance of a business unit or functional area by working as part of the decision-making management team and has responsibility for managing the budget of the team, department or unit. - Responsible for results for a site or area of responsibility results (i.e. CPL, Loans per Staff, Quality and Customer Loyalty).Basic Qualifications: 7+ years experience in customer service, loan administration, collections, or sales environment and 3+ years management experience.Minimum Qualifications: - Experience leading a team in the underwriting of conventional conforming and non conforming loan products.- Experience around the closing and underwriting of government loans (FHA/VA), bond loans, and manufactured housing loans. - Strong understanding of Underwriting guidelines and policies. - Must possess proven leadership and change management capabilities and ability to motivate team members to achieve high performance and results. - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. - Experience as loan administration advisor to business or functional senior management to create/implement strategy to accomplish business objectives.- Experience managing a loan administration program for a large, complex business or large functional areas with moderate to high systemic/aggregate risk through managers and/or individual contributors. - Experience working with other senior loan administration and business managers in developing and establishing loan administration strategy, policies, procedures and processes across the business.- Excellent partnering skills/abilities with other business executives/leaders.- Demonstrated change management skills and the ability to make connections to the greater strategy while collaborating with multiple business partners and stakeholders.- Willing to do whatever it takes for our customers, clients, partners, team and shareholders.
