Primary Characteristics
The basic function of the loan counselor is to control delinquencies and mitigate foreclosure losses. Every effort should be made to prevent foreclosure, as this process is very expensive and can result in the loss of valuable servicing, late charge and ancillary fees which are significant sources of income for our business.

Essential Functions
* Answer incoming telephone calls
* Initiate outgoing telephone calls
* Discover the reason for default
* Establish repayment plans
* Discuss alternatives to foreclosure
* Collect the total amount due
* Initial review of foreclosure recommendation
* Analyze payment application
* Research problem payments

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
* Understanding of investor requirements and guidelines
* Knowledge of MSP; specifically the Collection Workstation
* Flexibility
* Excellent oral skills
* Positive Attitude
* Listening Skills
* Self Starter

Training and Experience
* Customer Service, Collection, Loss Mitigation, MSP and auto dialing experience is preferred by not required
* If needed, additional hands-on training
