JOB DESCRIPTIONDescription The Local Sales Manager:
1-Maximizes revenue from all revenue categories
2-Provides leadership and vision to develop a strong sales culture.
3-Recruits, manages and develops a high performance sales team that provides marketing solutions.
4-Organizes and plans day to day strategies to motivate, coach and counsel the Cox Media advertising sales team.
5-Leads and oversees all sales activities to ensure revenue and growth objectives are met.
6-Provides strategic sales direction and decisions.
7-Monitors /analyzes sales performance, and takes budget accountability for driving improvements in sales/revenue growth, sales productivity, sales quality and optimization of customer satisfaction.
8-Leads, designs and delivers training and job aides to supplement the sales training program. Monitor the effectiveness of training techniques, job aides and internal communications systems for sales related matters.
9- Responsible for assisting sales consultants in growing market share - this includes retention and upgrading of existing clients, and acquisition of new business.
10- Maximizes inventory to grow average unit rates and overall revenue for the San Diego Interconnect.
11- Responsible for building client relationships and may be required to attend client events/functions after regular work hours.
Bachelor s degree (B.A) from four-year college or university; and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven track record of building, developing and training strong sales team
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Ability to prioritize and work in a results oriented, rapidly changing, dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires collaboration across multiple stakeholders and constituents
Proven track record of strong media sales success and leadership ability
Demonstrated history of achievement in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment
Must have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to create solid business relationships and develop a sense of team with the AE s and managers
Must have knowledge in local media advertising, competitive strategies, product marketing, product management and team management
Action-oriented, effective communicator with strong leadership and development skills
Confident personality and strong sense of urgency
Able to think strategically, act tactically and effectively manage multiple projects
Must be analytical, detail-oriented and possess strong project management, organizational, problem solving and time management skills
Must be a creative and innovative thinker
Must be highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent written and oral communication skills
