As a member of the engineering technical staff, the individual is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program. The individual will perform logistics engineering activity to support projects, provides logistics guidance, applies logistics engineering functional processes, and provides leadership in performing a wide variety of logistics engineering assignments of high complexity with little supervision. Responsible for the logistics aspects of the product life cycle development and support from the R&D phase, design concept, design capture, qualification, production release, and lifecycle support. Performs the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program plans, Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) technical documentation. Be the logistics representative in technical exchanges with program management in support of the customer.
Perform reliability analysis, maintainability analysis, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and spares analysis. Generate associated technical documentation.
Work with manufacturing and product operations to improve manufacturability, reliability and address failure trends utilizing the Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), by internally working with Trouble Failure Reports (TFRs). Generate associated technical documentation.
Perform parts and material obsolescence tracking by using available tools. Support the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) process by identifying potential options for repair or replacement of items or suppliers of items. Generate associated technical documentation.
Provide warranty and maintenance agreement analysis. Provide lifecycle cost support.
Generate, prepare, and maintain technical publications in compliance with our process and/or contractual obligations. This includes the generation of Operational & Maintenance (O&M) technical documentation.
Support the Integrated Product Team (IPT) leader and/or program manager at team meetings, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and Program Management Reviews (PMRs).
Define, develop, deploy, maintain, and improve the company s logistics engineering functional processes within the company s enterprise process framework, within the product development process, and more specifically integrated with the other engineering functional processes. Provides logistics engineering functional process training to staff. Utilize resident knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the logistics engineering field. Relies on established procedures and work instructions to guide hardware engineering activities.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in an applicable engineering field with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience with integrated logistics support and related areas with knowledge of industry standard best practices.
Working knowledge of aerospace and defense logistics and reliability engineering processes, and as they directly relate to Department of Defense (DoD) policies and processes.
Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and cooperative efforts working with the program team as well as other engineering management and staff. A good team player with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate with customers from an appropriate technology perspective. Able to provide strong contributions to technical proposal efforts, by generating written technical descriptions and performing cost estimation.
Familiarity with ISO 9000, AS9100, DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STDs, and other applicable standards.
Knowledge of the engineering design and development process, including tools, techniques, and methods.
Exceptional problem-solving and system debugging skills.
Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive and dynamic work objectives.
Demonstrated track record of working on successful projects from concept to deployment.
Leadership experience in technology environment. Experience working with achieving objectives, mentoring, and problem solving. Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment.
Communications technology experience is highly desirable.
Military background and experience especially with logistics and supportability is highly desirable.
RF, communications, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, wireless, AM and FM broadcast frequency design experience, and broad related knowledge and experience.
Knowledge of aerospace & defense software and hardware configuration management processes including generation and maintenance of drawings and software configuration management processes including generation and maintenance of builds and verification documentation.
Commercial application software and complex programmable hardware design and development experience. This area is characterized by knowledge of FAA and RTCA/ DO-178 and DO-254.
Knowledge and experience with technologies related to secure communication systems; directly related to multi-level secure operation.
Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in a two story office environment and requires sitting for prolonged periods of time using a computer keyboard and screen. Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. Job may require performance of light lifting of office equipment and records up to thirty (30) pounds.
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate company needs. Some travel may be required.
