Job Description Position description - This position is responsible for the overall evaluation of the efficiency of routing for a particular division; which will involve daily tasks of RoadNet Maintenance, standard or dynamic route maintenance, determining most efficient means of routing with current landscape or future landscapes, and timely processing of daily orders through the routing system for on time deliveries, delivery efficiency ( truck fill), profitability and positive customer experience while assigning drivers that have the available hours to complete the route assigned. Responsibilities Complete daily routing and truck diagramming in the most efficient and effective manner. Uses discretionary decision-making on improved routing efficiencies. Uses routing software or similar tools to perform route optimization. Monitors route performance, analyze data and restructure routes as needed. Uses discretion to ensure routing meets financial goals of the company. Schedules delivery associates to ensure DOT HOS are met and review on-board logging systems for on-going compliance for HOS and safety. Provide daily feedback to local management of compliance and safety issues, underperforming drivers, customer issues, etc. Uses discretion in coaching and disciplining employees. Work with sales and operations teams to improve, change or alter delivery sequence or frequency. Creates \\"what if\\" routing scenarios for delivery expense savings opportunities. Assists in achieving goals set for on-time deliveries. Reduce mileage by optimally routing each particular vehicle. Obtain driver feedback and leverage that feedback to improve driver job satisfaction and improve cost savings where applicable. Fill in for department supervisors/managers as needed. Any other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in supply chain/logistics, or related field. Experience in a Routing role, or in a role requiring critical thinking involving complex logistics, programming, or other related roles that indicate ability to problem solve. Must have strong analytical skills, with ability to trouble shoot, interpret data, and think creatively. Strong communication skills. High degree of computer literacy. Ability to work well under pressure. Willing to cross train in various other roles, within Operations to advance career. Preferred Strong working knowledge of Road-net and on-board electronic logging systems. Route optimization experience.
