This position is on a federal Ability One contract that requires most of the work hours are performed by employees with disabilities. Due to program requirements, this particular position needs to be filled by a person meeting the Ability One criteria.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to carry out written, oral or diagrammatic instructions. Must be able to read, write, and speak English and to communicate orally and in writing. Must have the ability to reason, make good judgments to plan organize, and meet deadlines. Must have good communication and customer skills. Must have the ability to use short and long-term memory. Must be able to work in a repetitious manner. Must possess a valid driver s license in the state in which you reside and be insurable under the Center s policy. Must be able to obtain government clearance. Must be able to use Pitney Bowes DM 550, DM 1000, and Ascent FedEx shipping system.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for receiving and dispatching all types of mail and distribution for Government offices and select contract groups. Provides customers with information on pertinent DOD regulations, postal schedules, times, limitations, prices and other private carriers. Maintains control and security of all accountable materials. Must have good communication and customer skills. Adhere to base distribution schedules ensuring timely delivery of mail and distribution. Operates customer service window. Responsible for maintaining GCE s safety policies and practices. Operates motor vehicles safely and in accordance with Eglin AFB policies and regulations. Receives incoming mail and distribution from USPS and from customers. Breaks down, sorts, and places incoming mail and distribution in proper bins. Places mail to be delivered in pouches. Delivers mail and distribution to ADO offices by GCE vehicle. Processes mail through metering machines and prepares for delivery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequently required to lift 50 pounds. Stand for extended periods of time (up to 7 hours). Occasionally carry approximately 50 pounds up and down 3 or 4 flights of stairs. Frequently required to reach, stoop and bend. Occasionally push cart weighing approximately 300 pounds. Walk frequently (driver/messenger and walking routes). Good motor skills to include eye and hand coordination. Full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
