Job Accountabilities

This position has the responsibilities to coordinate all production planning activities for all of the manufacturing operations that make up the North American Food Division. This individual will be involved with the daily activities of production, inventory, warehousing and distribution for the finished products being produced in the Division s U.S. and Canadian plants. The ideal candidate for this position must be an advocate for production planning best practices and standardization at the plant level. Responsibilities and accountabilities for this Manager role include but are not restricted to the following areas:

Job Accountabilities:

* Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data as well as meeting customer requirements, Divisional needs and requirements and managing inventory from demand forecast, and plant capacity and ability

* Hold monthly SOP & Financial Projection meetings with Corporate Management, Production Control and Sales

* Detail planning reviews for Budget and Revised Forecasts and recommend operating adjustments to Operations/Corporate Planning when trend data adversely affects operating levels

* Weekly and monthly review of cut, coat and litho requirements across the Division

* Liaison with Accounting for ongoing cost analysis

* Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments

* Manage volume and manufacturing location changes between factories as needed to meet customer requirements

* Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished good in an effort to minimize costs and achieve Division inventory goals

* Involvement in all key areas of materials management

* Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability for the Division

* Budget development of outside warehouse PAR s (with plants) and monthly reviews of issues/opportunities with visual metrics

* Warehouse optimization (internal and external)

* Maintain up and out database to identify opportunities

* Train and audit plant personnel for compliance in department standards and practices

* Assure inside sales and plants utilize the system through on site auditing and clear tracking metrics

* Maintain accurate needs attention inventory and implement measures for improvement

* Drive continuous improvement of the Customer Service Group through training, tool development, and strategic planning

* Standardize operating practices across North America Food Division

* Insure Customer Service Group adheres to timetables for submission of all requested information Job Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role would have following competencies and attributes:

* BS degree in business, logistics, operations research, or related area

* 5+ years of experience in a production planning/logistics/materials handling role

* Certificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing are highly desired

* Knowledge of AS400 operating systems is a plus

* Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific emphasis on Excel, Access and Word

* Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion

* Capable of managing changing business needs and requirements

* Proven record of applied critical thinking in a variety of situations, and taking calculated initiative to drive improvements

* Effective oral and written communications

* Demonstrated project management, time management, and organizational skills
