MANAGER PUBLIC RELATIONS
Community Advisory Committee: Serves as liaison to site Community Advisory Committee. Provides support to chairperson, ensures timely distribution of materials to committee members, helps group focus activities, and identifies which members can serve as ambassadors to the medical center.
Event Coordination: Responsible for hospital-wide event coordination, including high profile events involving seniors and other target audiences, as well as strategically partnering with Community Outreach. Develops and implements events and programs to support the strategic objectives of the hospital. Progress is made toward improved awareness and perception goals.
Media Relations Program: Implements a strategically driven and proactive media relations program to raise hospital's profile. Manages hospital media relations by responding to media inquiries and influencing positive placements. Positions hospital as an authoritative source and "go to" organization for the local media. Meets objectives through close collaboration with the corporate media relations team.
Physician Relations: Identifies opportunities to promote physicians, build relationships, and improve communications with doctors.
Internal Communications: Ensures proactive communications with team members and supports all internal communications publications and channels for the medical center. Staffs Command Center as part of role in crisis communications. Works with hospital leadership to effectively position programs in speeches and events.
Public Relations Plan: Develops and implements a comprehensive annual public relations plan to ensure that activities reinforce brand position and are in support of hospital's marketing objectives. Identifies strategies and opportunities to support hospital/service line business plans. Uses research to support planning and to identify key issues and opportunities. Hospital PR plan is completed and approved; acceptable progress toward achievement of hospital's PR objectives.
Reputation Management / Image Building: Elevates profile of hospital, hospital leadership, and key physicians. Identifies active speaking opportunities, partnerships, and participation on strategic boards in community/business organizations. Seeks out and prepares credible leaders to help advance brand, vision, and strategic messages of hospital.
Service Line Marketing Support: Assists in the implementation of service line marketing plans for hospital and assigned service line(s) with a goal of increasing market share. Functions collaboratively with marketing to advance strategic service lines; acceptable progress toward achievement of service line marketing objectives.
Sponsorship Strategies: Directs the coordination of relationship-building and sponsorship strategies based on identified community needs and the organization's strategic goals. Identifies, prioritizes and recommends opportunities to demonstrate "social responsibility" by providing resources or financial support to local agencies/organizations through corporate sponsorships and participation in special events. Directs employee support and participation in company-sponsored events.
Written Materials: Prepares strategic and creative written materials. Develops, writes, and edits content as appropriate for publications, web site, correspondences and speeches. Facilitates the promotion of the hospital and key messages through numerous written vehicles. Information prepared is timely and accurate. Audience is understood and appropriately addressed in copy. Information being shared is well researched and clearly defined. Material is attractive in its presentation. Approvals and input from appropriate parties are secured.
Other Duties as Assigned: Complete all other assigned duties and projects in a timely fashion.
Data Management and Analytics: Track, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics as needed and/or requested. Develop, recommend and/or implement actions or process improvements as appropriate.
Financial Management: Involved in the development and/or management of budget for assigned areas. Regularly monitors relevant key financial indicators and performance metrics, modifying business activities where needed in response to changing financial situations.
People Management: Manages and/or assists in the recruitment, development and supervision of team members. Creates and sustains an environment that fosters team member engagement. Establishes clear objectives tied to department and/or organizational strategic goals. Coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.
* Minimum 7+ years public relations experience with experience in a management role.
* BA/BS. Masters a plus.
* Exceptional communicator; well-spoken with excellent writing skills.
* Forwarding-thinking with ability to adapt to changing media market.
* Health care experience a plus.
* Must be an independent self-starter with a sense of urgency and a strong desire to consistently advance the goals of the organization.
* Requires strong multiple project management skills with an affinity for consistently producing high-quality work.
* Must be customer focused with a passion for customer service.Experience evaluating and assessing internal and external client needs
* Strong organizational and project management skills.
