The Medical Assistant provides direct and indirect care to patients to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care. Under the supervision of the Nursing Director or designee, the Medical Assistant performs various administrative and direct/indirect patient care duties for each patient. Works collaboratively with the team to assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. Collaboratively provides direct care to patients with the RN to facilitate efficient patient flow and quality patient care. Provides other support to team as needed. If determined to be optimal for the patient(s), has the capability to perform EKGs, draw blood for laboratory testing or perform other patient care duties within realm of role when directed, in an accurate and appropriate manner.

SCHEDULE: 32 Hours, Day/Evening shift.

High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of Medical Assistant Program

required. BLS required. Medical Assistant Certification required. Adheres to all

IC.A.R.E. Standards. Ability to speak, read and write English. Excellent

communication skills. Computer proficiency. Ability to work in a team

environment. Expectations of the individual in this position will be to demonstrate

professionalism, excellent organizational, time management, customer service and

communication skills, the ability to be self-directed, work well in a group and focus

on patient-centered quality care. Ability to focus and be detail oriented. Ability to

multitask and prioritize.
