JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the section supervisor and chemistry manager, performs a wide variety of manual and automated laboratory procedures utilizing independent judgment and maintaining responsibility for assigned duties. Must be familiar with all phases of the chemistry laboratory to include urinalysis and urine microscopy. Must be computer literate and have a basic understanding of computer interfaces. Must also be familiar with specimen processing protocols for both inpatient and outpatient procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word preferred. Excellent communication skills and writing skills. Must be computer literate and have a basic understanding of computer interfaces. Must be familiar with all phases of clinical chemistry and urinalysis including microscopy. Required Twelve months clinical internship as part of an Associate or Baccalaureate program or one year post-program clinical experience. Required Completed a baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology and training- either completion of an approvedaccredited clinical laboratory of medical technology training program or on or before 22892 qualified or could have qualified as a technologist under CFR 493.1433 laboratory regulations published March 14, 1990 (55 FR 9538). National certification by NCA, ASCP, or HEW.
