JOB DESCRIPTION

SHORT DESCRIPTION:

Come grow with us. Exciting opportunity to lead a Recognized Diabetes Education Program to enhance diabetes care in the community. Manage and guide 3 CDEs in coordination with Cooper Endocrinology. Responsibilities include program development, implementation and marketing, maintaining recognition standards, management and guidance of 3 other diabetes educators. Participates in individual patient education and leads group classes. Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and competence in advanced clinical practice and diabetes skills. Utilizes research to discover, examine, and evaluate knowledge, theories, and creative approaches to health care practice. Demonstrates clinical and leadership skills, effective interpersonal communication, problem-solving skills, willingness to learn computerized information systems and diabetes technology and ability to work within teams in a dynamic work environment. Quality improvement, mentoring and continuing professional development are expected skill sets.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Scheduled Days / Hours: M-F: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; License (or Certification):RD Required; Education:MASTERS Preferred; Education:MSN Preferred



Position is 20% administrativemanagerial and 80% clinical.



Education: BSN or RD CDE-License or certification required. Master's Degree in health related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of diabetes education, care and management experience required; 5 years preferred.

Certification/License: Must maintain credentials for RN licensure or RD. Certified Diabetes Educator required.
