EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Graduation from AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, certification by either American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) or American Registry of Clinical Radiologic Technologists, licensure by State of Texas, MRI certified or eligible for MRI certification by Texas Department of Health, AND
CPR certification within three (3) months of employment, and five (5) years MRI experience, of which, one year must include either quality assurance responsibility and supervisory/lead experience required. TDH License required. Research experience preferred.

JOB DUTIES

Assists MRI Supervisor. Assures that all technologists are keeping a steady workflow.
Interviews the patient, conducts patient screening and obtains a medical history pertaining to the study being performed. Ensures that the patient meets safety requirements in regards to contraindications. Explains the procedure to the patient, and instructs the patient on any necessary requirements needed of the patient to improve image quality. Answers questions that the patient may have concerning the procedure.
Positions patients and chooses the correct coil for the area of the body to be examined. Confers with physicians or supervisor to determine the appropriate sequences and parameters to obtain diagnostic quality images. Performs MRI using precautions for MR safety..
Ensures a neat, clean and safe environment; and, performs quality c ontrol testing as needed. Ensures equipment is in proper working order, performs minor repairs; and, reports defective and malfunctioning equipment as needed. Communicates and coordinates with vendors, quality assurance of equipment and scheduling down time. Works with physicist regarding documentation of all reports and suggested or requested actions.
Adheres to patient privacy act HIPAA, and confidentiality policy at all times.
Ensure adherence to prescribed procedures, protocols and policies noting deviations and suggesting possible improvements. Ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations, both for patients and technologists. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Assures PACT (problem solve, ability, communication, teamwork) customer service and excellent guest relations skills with all patients, staff and co-workers.
Provides guidance to subordinate technologists and provides radiographic advice and solutions to work problems. Plans, coordinates and participates in in-service education and training of technologists.
Works with supervisor and clinic manager on analysis of unsigned reports and billing issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs research protocols and documentation required by principle investigator.
Performs post processing on MRI systems and remote workstations. May include, but not limited to, MIPing, MPR, 3-D rendering, quan- titative analysis of perfusion scans, qualitative and color mapping for breast imaging, ADC mapping and color mapping of diffusion scans, cardiac analysis to assess cardiac function including ejec- tion fractions and wall thickness, spectroscopy analysis, and calculation of T1 and T2 values. Performs other related duties as required.
