JOB DESCRIPTIONSuperior group is looking for a MS Outlook Exchange Administrator for our client located in Sterling Heights (SLC), MI
The Global Email and Messaging SME will be responsible for the delivery of global email and messaging services to client.
Also responsible for providing tier 2 support, incident, problem, outage management and monitoring operations for Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, MDM and email filtering.
Other responsibilities include:
Work with cross functional business unit representatives to drive platform enhancements and develop governance processes to ensure focus on the most important initiatives.
Work closely with the managed service provider to improve tier 1 call resolution through driving automation and self-support knowledgebase creation and improvement initiatives.
Continuously monitor the environment and proactively address or create plans to address risk and anticipated issues due to upcoming infrastructure upgrades, security patches, updates to other integrated applications, etc.
Research acute, complex technical problems within the environment and develop plans to resolve.
Working closely with the managed service provider and senior IT staff, facilitate collaborative work teams to resolve any infrastructure issues related to the email and messaging platforms (Network Services, Security, Server Admins, Backup and Storage team and other applications teams).
Be available outside normal business hours to address critical messaging and email issues.
Develop and maintain operational support documentation for email and associated applications.
Develop and report out on usage statistics and drive managed service provider's monitoring of the messaging and email environment.
Define multi-year messaging and email roadmap, including release schedule and improvement initiatives.
Develop and own the mobility strategy for email and messaging services.
Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans in relation to the email and messaging platforms.
Work with application team leadership to develop notifications for planned and unplanned production outages.
Continuously monitor platform security vulnerabilities and remediate as necessary.
Perform root cause analysis of any email and messaging platform issues.
Engage in administrative tasks such as adding, modifying and deleting group mailboxes and email accounts.
Create and manage Exchange server/mailbox policies, relays and connectors.
Work closely with the Storage and Backup team to ensure the backup strategy is in place and expedite restoration of backed up content when necessary.
Manage entire Exchange 2016 infrastructure over multiple sites.
Monitor system and application logs for issues and remediate as necessary.
Configure advanced transport rules.
Manage Exchange databases and fragmentation.
Administer legal hold and discovery for user mailboxes.
Manage mailbox quotas and retention policies.
Advanced literacy in Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments
Managing Exchange 2010/2013/2016 in a large, on-premise, clustered enterprise environment (5+ years)
Certificate and DNS administration in relation to Exchange
Solid understanding of MS Outlook and Outlook Web Access
Experience with PowerShell Scripting
Experience working in an environment with change control processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning and organizational skills
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
Troubleshooting mail flow issues
Ability to perform independent technical research
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT related field (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems).
Minimum of 12 years’ experience as MS Outlook Exchange Administrator.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in a highly regulated, secured and audited environment
Experience with Microsoft Skype for Business
Experience with Microsoft Excha
