MACHINE LEARNING R&D SCIENTIST



Primary Responsibilities

Located at Grace Lake Corporate Center (GLCC) in Van Buren Twp., Michigan, near Ann Arbor, MI, this role will be responsible for developing Machine Learning for autonomous vehicles. The Machine Learning R&D Scientist will also be responsible for multidisciplinary team interaction, work on and evaluate out of shelf ML solutions, keep documentation up to date and work on establishing a workflow process for machine learning development



Typical Duties

* Develop machine learning solutions for autonomous vehicles.

* Generate technical documents and reports for internal distribution

* Generate intellectual property

* Experiment with novel machine learning algorithms

* Feel comfortable to work in a multicultural environment

* Interact with a multidisciplinary team and work together for common goals

* Evaluate machine learning third party solutions

* Generate test plans to be executed by a testing team

Requirements

Required: PhD or MSc in machine learning, AI, or related field in an electronics, technology or automotive environment, or at least five (5) years of demonstrable R&D experience (including publications).



* Develop machine learning solutions for autonomous vehicles.

* Generate technical documents and reports for internal distribution

* Generate intellectual property

* Experiment with novel machine learning algorithms

* Feel comfortable to work in a multicultural environment

* Interact with a multidisciplinary team and work together for common goals

* Evaluate machine learning third party solutions

* Generate test plans to be executed by a testing team



Degree Required: PhD or MSc in Machine Learning, AI or related field.



Desired Competencies/Experience

* PhD or MSc in machine learning, AI or related field.

* Demonstrated experience solving machine learning problems (papers or publications).

* Experience on going from abstract mathematical / algorithmic models to practical implementations

* Strong background on artificial neural network algorithms, deep learning, support vector machines and CNN.

* Experience on path planning algorithms using probabilistic graphical models (including Bayesian networks), markov chains and Monte Carlo methods.

* Experience on using machine learning methods applied to computer vision problems.

* Good programming skills in C/C++

* Good programming skills in Python

* Exposure to of OpenCV

* Expertise in Matlab, R and/or Mathematica

* Expertise in the use of PyBrain, Cafe, Torch, Theano

* Programming experience in Linux and Window environments

* Strong background on parallel processing and high performance computing

* CUDA programming experience

* OpenCL programming experience is a plus.
