Essential Functions

JOB DESCRIPTION:Performs all types of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic repairs on plant machinery.Works independently in planning, laying out and performing assigned machine repair work.Machine repair assignments may consist of preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, overhaul, etc.Is familiar with and has the ability to operate plant machinery related to job assignments.Works from complicated machine drawings, parts lists, specifications, schematics and verbal instructions.Reproduces and/or repairs machine parts, holders and attachments to strict tolerances utilizing tool room equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drill press, welders, etc.Has thorough knowledge of all bearings, seals, clutches, pumps, gears, etc.Understands interface between mechanical and electrical controls.May instruct or direct lower rated machine repair people.May be required to establish and maintain records for machine repair items.These records would be identification by part number, inventory cards, locations, order cards, parts books, etc. Accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation and improvement on a continuous basis.Must Follow all plant safety policies, procedures, directives, and rules.Participate in department and process team activities and projects. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Department Manager or Leader.


1.High School graduate or equivalent 2.Must have 4 years formal trades training, or journeymen apprenticeship in Machine Repair or Millwright, 2- Year Degree in Electro - Mechanical and/or Mechanical or similar education/experience. 3.Additional experience strongly preferred.4.Blueprint reading from complicated drawings and Electrical Diagrams5.Very High mechanical aptitude.6.Ability to work independently, demonstrated initiative, etc.7.Must also be a Team Player and live to work in Teams. 8.Testing will be required to show 12th grade competency levels. This is exempt if testing has already been through an apprenticeship or has a two year Associates Degree. 9.Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.10.Must be able to do heavy lifting and physical work.(Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran/VEVRAA Federal Contractor).
