Mail Room Clerk - Experience Required
Processes incoming and outgoing mail according to requirements, assists in all Mail Center related activities, and provides clerical support for the Human Resources, Planning and Business Services Division staff. Operates and maintains automated postage meter, folding and inserting equipment, copiers, imaging equipment, and fax equipment; orders and dispenses office supplies; sorts, reconciles, and processes incoming checks and documentation; coordinates courier shipments and deliveries and prepares mailings; provides support for office upkeep and event set-ups.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities - Must have a working knowledge of mail center processing operations, facilities, and mail center and office machines (postage meters, scales, folding and inserting equipment, copiers and fax machines); Must be organized, detail-oriented, and be able to routinely work under deadlines. The ability to operate a personal computer using standard office software, specifically Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Outlook is required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality, follow detailed instructions and maintain effective working relationships with Association staff and the general public. On occasion, must be able to lift, weigh, tape, label and restack boxes being prepared for shipping that could weigh up to 40 lbs.
Acceptable Experience and Training High school graduation or its equivalent, plus at least one (1) year of experience in a mail center, general office/clerical support position, or other equivalent work experience.
