POSITION TITLE: Engineer DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Property Operations REPORTS TO (TITLE): Chief Engineer SUPERVISES: None FLSA: Non-Exempt BASIC FUNCTION The Engineer will assist guests with maintenance, facility repairs or other requests, identifying and correcting maintenance and repair concerns. Responsibilities also include performing various work order tasks and preventive maintenance on property equipment and building maintenance. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent. Two to Four years experience in a similar job within the hospitality industry preferred but not required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, relating to their field of expertise. Ability to use and knowledge of hand tools and power tools. Certified pool operator preferred. Vocational or technical training preferred, relating to their expertise. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Resolves guests requests for repairs, maintenance and general facility requests as directed by the Director of Engineering. Identifies problems, initiates work orders, accomplishes assigned work orders and does all necessary repairs relating to their expertise. Performs preventative maintenance and maintains logs in an organized manner. Complete the duty rounds checklists and corrects noted problems. Responsible for correct use of office equipment, EMS system and Life Safety Systems, (training provided). ENVIRONMENT Works within all areas of the property, both inside and outside and under possible inclement weather. Some exposure to chemicals ( with use of PPE) and hot and cold elements. Uneven, wet, dry and hard work surfaces. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds somewhat frequently without assistance. Ability to utilize machinery equipment. Frequent standing, walking, crouching, kneeling. Must be able to work at various heights on ladders and roofs. Frequent to constant manual dexterity, use of fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination.
