Maintenance Mechanic A

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic A in our Nuclear Component Manufacturing group within our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit. Based out of Newington, NH, the Nuclear Component Manufacturing plant manufactures specialty equipment for new nuclear power plants and major replacement projects.

In this position, a Maintenance Mechanic A will Performs all the duties assigned to lower pay grades, as needed. Is able to demonstrate a high level of performance with advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques and is able to effect complex repairs and/or rebuilds as a result. Demonstrates/develops leadership qualities by using and promoting Safety, Human Performance and WMS fundamentals in the workplace. Trains other maintenance (electrical and mechanical) personnel to carry out more advanced troubleshooting and repairs to plant equipment. Leads the installation and the development of maintenance functions to new or reconfigured electrical and mechanical equipment. Works with production processes to offer technical advisement or coordinates modifications to existing equipment to optimize performance through process improvement initiatives (Kaizen). Responsibilities include:

* Preventative maintenance (PM) and or repairs on electrical and mechanical system(s) within the plant and or on production machinery.
* Preventative maintenance and or repairs on pneumatic controls for building systems and or production machinery.
* Preventative maintenance and or minor repairs on plan machinery and equipment, including hydraulic systems on production machinery.
* Troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Install and debug complex CNC control systems through the use of advanced techniques and utilization of internal and external diagnostic equipment and software.
* Receive training and work assignments from the department Supervisor or designated Lead Person.
* Requisition parts and materials as directed using good consumerism principles.
* Work from electrical/mechanical drawings, schematics or diagnostic software.
* Clean and perform general housekeeping duties as needed to assist with shop 6S readiness.
* Show/practice exemplary teamwork principles with their fellow teammates.
A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:

* Minimum 2 year Certificate program or Associates Degree in related fields or, High School Diploma/GED with 10 years equivalent of Industrial Maintenance experience.
* 5 years of advanced Industrial Maintenance experience preferred.
* Leadership or project development experience in addition to Industrial Maintenance experience is desirable.
* Experience with Six Sigma, 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles is desirable.
* Strong background in technical troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs.
* Experience with Maintenance hand tools, portable power tools, protective equipment, shop equipment, machines such as power saws, drills or hydraulic presses, milling machines, lathes, band saws, pipe threading machines, ladders, scaffolding, cranes, forklifts, tractors, access platforms, hand and other lift trucks, arc and gas welding and cutting equipment, meters, testers, switches, electric outlet and junction boxes, transformers, simple metering devices such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal imagery equipment, circuit tracking meters and megohmeters, fiber optic signal transmission, load banks and thermal measurement devices.
* Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
* Excellent computer skills are required.
* Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams and PLC logic.
