The Maintenance Technician at our Hazleton, PA facility will have responsibility to inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, systems, buildings, facilities, and physical structures. The Hazleton facility manufactures polysio foam insulation for use in commercial and residential applications. The hours of operation at the facility fluctuate with production demand. This position will cover a flexible second shift. Responsibilities:Mechanical
- Operates, maintains, inspects, lubricates, and repairs as necessary the following plant systems:o Water system including back flow prevention and filtering equipmento Compressed air system including compressors, valves, filters, separators, and controlso Air conditioning and refrigeration systems including units, filters, washers, vaporizers, and fanso Gas and propane systems including storage, vaporizing and distribution equipmento Plant drainage and sewage disposal systemo Heating system including water heaterso Pentane systemo Production equipment including laminator oven, conveyors, saws, and lift tables
- Removes from service those machines which require major repairs or that cannot be repaired while in operation or position
- Makes necessary repairs to machinery and reinstalls
- Flame and saw cuts, drills, taps, files, grinds and fits all types of metal for fabrication, alternations or repair to machines, building equipment, jigs, and fixtures
- Makes welds, brazes, cuts, and solders all grades and types of metal from difficult positions and hard to reach locations in an efficient and high-quality manner
- Uses hand and power tools of all kinds and a variety of measuring and testing instruments
- Has wide knowledge of grinding and shaping of various metals
- Maintains and repairs all plant plumbing
- Maintains, repairs, and rebuilds pumps and gear boxesElectrical
- Assembles and installs all types of new or repaired electrical circuits, systems, instruments, and equipment including motors, regulators, controllers, generators, and switches
- Inspects electrical equipment and machinery, diagnoses faulty operation, determines proper corrective action, and makes indicated repairs
- Installs, maintains, and repairs temperature controlling and recording instruments including thermocouples and potentiometers
- Performs meggar, voltmeter, ammeter, ground locating, and other electrical tests
- Possesses working knowledge of electrical distribution systems and switchboards
- Instructs other employees in starting, stopping, and operating electrical equipment when required
- Keeps familiar with latest types of electrical control, motor, drive, and industrial lighting equipment
- PLC and drive experience preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- Associate or technical degree preferred
- 5 years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated troubleshooting experience and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of software programs such as email, spreadsheets, word processing and PM programs; SAP experience preferred The candidate must be able to work a flexible shift, nights, weekends, and holidays if scheduled. Flexible hours and overtime are required to cover vacations, projects, and other activities. Previous involvement in safety procedures/programs is preferred, and a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship is required.
