Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
Performs both routine preventative maintenance and full
repair of Embroidery and Screen Print equipment.
Participates in the installation of fixtures, repairs
and adjusts production equipment, to assure optimum
equipment operation. May be required to assist other
Maintenance staff in performing repairs or routine
preventative maintenance throughout this facility,
including some outdoor work. Maintains inter company
documentation relating to parts and equipment. Job may
require working alternating or irregular shift schedules
on a temporary basis, to assure coverage in the absence
of other Maintenance personnel, during peak production
periods, or during emergency situations. Some
independent travel may be required.
Job will require training and certification on forklift
and/or crane engine hoist use. Additional certifications
may be required to meet safety and/or other job and/or
facility maintenance requirements. Valid Driver s
License is required. Job will require participation and
compliance to all policies and procedures related to ISO
(quality) and safety.
Functions of this position may require occasional
internet access and regular use of UniFirst E Mail. This
will require annual review and acceptance of UniFirst s;
Electronic Record Retention and Internet Policy;
Understanding and compliance with the Company s
Statement of Corporate Policy and Code of Conduct (The
Code of Conduct) as well as the Electronic Records
Retention Policy and Electronic Records Usage
Job Details:
* Safe work practices, in accordance with facility and
intercompany policies, manufacturer (equipment)
safety guidelines, must be followed at all times.
* Responsible for preventative maintenance, overhaul,
and repair of production machinery and mechanical
* Observes machinery or mechanical equipment in
operation and located causes of trouble.
* Dismantles equipment to gain access to and remove
defective parts.
* Adjusts functional parts of devices and control
* Repairs or replaces defective parts.
* Installs special functional and structural parts on
machinery and mechanical equipment.
* Operates equipment and machinery to test their
* Sets up and operates a drill press, grinder, and
other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
Can recommend and/or request parts, materials, and
equipment, necessary to the performance of
Personalization Maintenance functions.
* Completes daily inter-company documentation and is
responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate
information and records.
* Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
* Responsible for wearing and maintaining recommended
PPE. Performing all functions in a safe manner, in
accordance with departmental, facility, and
Corporate requirements.
* Assures all chemicals used, are used and stored
properly in accordance with manufacturer s
instructions and UniFirst safety requirements.
Responsible to insure all chemical MDS are current.
* Responsible for monitoring Hazard Checklist to
insure compliance with facility safety policies.
* Maintain certification(s) required to operate
various lift equipment.

* Associates degree from accredited College or
University and/or two years related experience;
training or equivalent combination of education and
experience in related field; or mechanical and
electrical certifications achieved through
accredited technical school.
* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand
English, analyze and interpret general business
periodicals, technicals guides, product labeling,
instructions and/or procedures. Ability to write
basic reports and simple correspondence. Ability to
effectively present information and respond to
questions from management and staff.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in
all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, decimals, and interpreting bar graphs and
