General Purpose: Manager, Accounting & OPM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and provide accurate and timely closing of the United States books and records:
Assist in management of month-end closing process, ensuring a timely and accurate completion.
Oversight of accounts reconciliation process.
Review of all general ledger accounts to identify significant variance activity.
Provide information and assistance to the Companys internal and external auditors.
Oversee daily accounting duties including journal entry creation, approval and posting.
Streamline the accounting processes and procedures to increase productivity and accuracy.
Develop and enforce the policies and procedures to mitigate financial risk and enhance the control environment.
Stay current with Company initiatives in order to ensure compliance with appropriate accounting treatment.
Manage and provide oversight to Operational Payments Management Department:
Oversight of Cash Application, Merchant Settlement and Trade Accounts Payable personnel.
Streamline the payment management processes and procedures to increase productivity and accuracy.
Maintain proper control over all functional areas within operational payment management, including segregation of duties, and appropriate backup and coverage
Stay current with banking regulations to ensure no fines or penalties are incurred
Participate in special projects impacting the accounting area
Respond to requests for financial information from internal and external customers.
Assist and lead special projects
Represent the accounting department on new initiatives.
Identify areas of reporting risk to the Company.
Assist in integration of accounting of new acquisitions in a controlled, compliant and efficient manner as applicable.
Demonstrates leadership behavior by effectively performing four core people management functions: Selection/Assessment, People Development, Performance Management and Building Bench Strength/Succession Planning.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Bachelors Degree required, CPA/MBA preferred
7-10 Years of accounting experience
Strong technical accounting skills
Unquestioned integrity and honesty
Strong organizational skills
Prior management experience
Ability to effectively communicate
Strong team building skills
Must pass a successful background investigation
