JOB DESCRIPTIONShopperTrak is the largest retail traffic and analytics provider in the world. We have over 150,000 connected sensors in brick and mortar retail locations and a world class operations team to deploy and support devices at scale.
Advanced Analytics is a newly formed team within the Professional Services group at ShopperTrak responsible for defining and executing the analytics roadmap and strategy. The professional services group is focused on delivering the ShopperTrak value proposition through data driven analytics which improve a retailers performance. The team consists of prior consultants, retail operations experts, data scientists, developers, BI analysts and customer engagement managers. The professional services group is building an analytics center of excellence in response to demand from our existing customer base ( 1500 retail customers worldwide). We want to provide a customer-led innovation lab by working closely with our customers to investigate targeted and next generation analytics projects. In doing so, the professional services team will define future core products for the repeatable solutions developed during customer engagements. This is a very high visibility position within the organization. You will manage a team responsible for delivering advanced analytics promised to the customer and lead research in new analytic directions. You will be a key member in definition and scoping discussions with the customer. You will work directly with cross-functional team members on a daily basis and contribute to the professional services strategy. You will direct the data science and advanced BI tool development teams and manage their sprint cycles. To be successful, you will need to be able to interpret customer requirements, evaluate available data sets and intelligently incorporate feedback from every member on the team. Exceptional people and management skills are a must for this position.
Define the Advanced Analytics as a Service roadmap
Build MVP solutions for Professional Services and pilot clients (generally through Qlik)
Evaluate 3rd party data sets and understand data limitations and quality, make recommendations on data set purchases
Conduct research and analysis on frontier of retail analytics industry for Thought Leadership
Define and execute on a tactical roadmap for each project
Collaborate with product management to build repeatable solutions developed during customer engagements
Graduate degree in business, statistics or data analytics preferred
Data visualization software experience (Qlik, Tableau or similar)
Data science experience preferred - must be able to lead / work with a data science team
Consulting or customer facing experience
Strong foundation in Hypothesis Testing
Must be able to manage up, down and sideways to push the team across the finish line
Awareness of retail industry
The role would report to Global Head of Professional Services and own Advanced Analytics at ShopperTrak
