Our Manager, Applications is responsible for the management of IT solution delivery and support as it relates to specific business applications.
The Solution Delivery Manager (SDM) leads a staff of Analysts, Architects to deliver business sponsored projects on time and on budget with the highest quality, and then supporting these systems to ensure functionality and availability meets the business' exacting standards.
Responsibilities include (for the specified business applications): group direction and goal setting, coordinating the response to IT systems incidents that affect business operations, facilitating priority setting for enhancements with the business, resource planning and management, work management (including project work and oversight of enhancement work), staff recruitment and skills and career development, solution delivery standards development, and the management of relationships with vendors, business areas, other IT leaders and staff.
Designs and defines information technology (IT) system architecture for integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise.
Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies.
Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards. Assists in the development of and manages an architecture governance process. Develops and recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
Leads and directs one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations. Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet technical and scope requirements of the assignment. Keeps current on advances in the field of IT. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team. Interfaces with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met. Adheres to all IT governance policies and procedures.
Working closely with the Service Management function, the SDM manages third party service providers involved in support, projects and enhancements. The SDM must demonstrate a strong understanding of and high regard for the company's IT Business Model, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management processes and execution.","Responsibilities:
Works with IT leadership to set the direction and goals for specific scope of IT solution delivery business applications functions in alignment with overall IT architecture and direction, by building strong relationships with business area leaders, IT&S leaders, vendors, and staff .
Planning - Responsible for solicitation of business needs, utilizing the company's IT business model and tools to prioritize and plan tasks and the resources needed to accomplish them, and the development of detailed project plans to assure activities are understood and commitment is gained to meet overall project objectives.
Budgeting and Control - Responsible for setting, tracking and adhering to capital and expense budgets for ongoing operations and projects, utilizing the company's IT Governance tools to plan, forecast, and explain variances.
Project Delivery - Overall responsibility for project activities and the associates assigned to them. Assures all projects are initiated correctly, scope and requirements are monitored and controlled throughout the project and ensures compliance to these IT solution delivery standards and processes among IT staff and vendors. Monitors and controls project delivery within determined budget and timeframes. Identifies and mitigates or resolves project risks and issues.
Resource Management - Manage the IT demand with quick response to changing business needs, work with the business to prioritize work based on business criticality, value and risk, and allocate and manage resource assignments to business priorities; plans for, recruits, and allocates resources to meet the demand of IT solution delivery and support efforts
Responsible for personnel management and staff development within the group: ensures that performance management and career development activities are completed, including performance appraisal, assisting in career development, coaching, and ensuring meaningful assignments and opportunities for staff growth. Creates an environment that encourages information sharing, team-based resolutions, cross-training, and process improvement within the group to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and service excellence.
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering or equivalent work experience is required
Ten to Fifteen (10-15) years of Information Systems experience managing information related technologies and resources
Seven or more years experience in IT solution delivery in the applications arena
Five or more years experience managing information systems projects and project teams
Experience leading communications with direct reports, senior leaders, business partners, and vendors to ensure collaboration, efficiency, and service excellence
Certifications in IT solution delivery areas preferred
Will utilize the following systems in their day to day function:
SAP ECC (all modules), Siebel Trade Management, SAP EWM, WM Systems, including Swisslog, SAP APO and SNC, JDA Manugustics (SCPO), Demand Sensing softwares (Terra), Sterling EDI (EDIFACT - EDICOM), SAP PI / ABAP
